About the Authors

CHRIS SMITH and JOHN PATTISON are the coauthors of the award-winning Slow Church: Cultivating Community in the Patient Way of Jesus.

Chris is also the author of Reading for the Common Good: How Books Help Our Churches and Neighborhoods Flourish (IVP, 2016). The editor of the Englewood Review of Books, Chris lives in the Englewood neighborhood of Indianapolis.

John is also the coauthor of Besides the Bible: 100 Books that Have, Should, or Will Create Christian Culture (IVP, 2010). He previously served as Managing Editor of CONSPIRE Magazine and Deputy Editor of the Burnside Writers Collective. He lives in Silverton, Oregon, a rural community 40 miles south of Portland.
